Fall has already been giving way to colder temperatures and even a few snowfalls. If you’ve been around here, you know that I plan our meals by the season and as the weather begins to feel more wintery, I’m shifting to a new winter meal plan.
I meal plan 4 times per year, taking into account the season and our family’s needs. It’s a framework that we can shake up when we want to, but takes so much anxiety and decision-making out of the day-to-day of my life. You can learn more about my seasonal meal planning approach and snag my free printable here.

I’m not going to lie, right now we are all tired. I need our winter meal plan to maximize ease. We’re also saving for a few house projects and a treadmill, so I’m looking for ways to save money while still prioritizing the health of our family.
Our budget-friendly, easy winter meals
winter dinners
Monday: Cabbage soup and homemade bread (this light soup is perfect for leftover lunches all week)
Tuesday: Quesadillas (just tortillas fried with beans and cheese inside), served with salsa and avocado
Wednesday: Rice and Stirfried veggies with chicken (alternating Indian, BBQ, or Thai chicken)
Thursday: Chili and tortilla chips (alternating pumpkin chili with other chili recipes I want to try)
Friday: a meal from my easiest meals ever list
Saturday: Sheet pan roasted sweet potatoes, sausage, and brussels sprouts
Sunday: Pizza, always pizza!
Simple as that.
